Print Buttermilk Drop Doughnuts Recipe

Buttermilk Drop Doughnuts
Ingredients:
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Egg beaten with 2 TBL water
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda dissolved in
1/4 Cup Sugar brown to taste
1 Teaspoon Salt black pepper
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour upto 7/12 cups
1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil for oiling bowl
3/4 Cup Buttermilk or low-fat sour cream
1 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg and pepper
Directions:
1. Heat oil (2 to 3 inches) in Dutch oven to 375F Mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, nutmeg and baking soda in large bowl.

2. Add oil, buttermilk and egg; beat with fork until smooth.

3. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls (do not make too large or they will not cook through) into hot oil.

4. Fry about 3 minutes or until golden brown on both sides; drain on paper towels.
