While traveling in Argentina, I discovered one of my most favorite foods. Empanadas! During our work with Recipe Key, we often discuss our favorite foods from our various travels around the world. Empanadas have a special place in our heart because they can be personalized and specialized for whoever is making them. We’ve made breakfast empanadas with eggs and bacon, dinner empanadas with ground beef and chili sauce, and dessert empanadas with fruit filling and cream. What a treat! Empanadas are also a great dinner party idea. Try making an assortment of them and let your guests mix and match the ones they’ll try.

Baked Lamb Stew with Fresh Rosemary
Winter winter winter. For those of us in the Northeast, we’re in the heart of winter but we’re not letting it get us down. This week we’re experimenting with soups, stews, and all things hearty. As my mom would say, we’re making “stick to your ribs” meals. We’re experimenting with all types of ingredients – various meats, hearty vegetables, and strong flavors. Our favorite so far is this delectable lamb stew: we promise you’ll enjoy it!

 Five Cup Fruit Salad
Traditionally a summer side-dish, this salad is a year-round favorite at my house. This mix of the tangy sour cream, sweet marshmallows, and citrusy oranges has a little something for everyone. Try it as a side dish when serving burgers on the grill or baking salmon in the oven. Or – save it as a sweet and fruity dessert!!

We at Recipe Key are proud to announce that we placed First in the College Mogul and Vator.tv Challenge.
From Vator:
Vator competitions use the “wisdom of the crowds” approach to find true gems. At Vator, we let the Vator community determine the the top five companies, based off of number of votes, and company network size. From these top five, it’s up to the final judges, consisting of College Mogul’s team and the Vator founders (Cyril Brignone and Bambi Francisco), to determine which company will have a chance to present their company to VCs for free.
We are very excited to win this award and would like to thank all of the people that voted for us. Check out the details at: http://www.vator.tv/competition/show/college-mogul-and-vatortv-challenge

 Pork Tenderloin Diane
The other day I had a friend come over for dinner. When she got to my house, I told her we were having pork. She made a funny face and thought about making an excuse to go home. She had some imagined aversion to pork. I made her promise to give my pork recipe a chance. She took one bite and loved it. A well marinated pork loin melts in your mouth – and my friend was shocked. Try this recipe and get creative. If you LOVE garlic – add more! If you LOVE rosemary – mix it in! Enjoy!

 Smashed Red Potatoes
This is a Recipe Key favorite. For those of you who do not enjoy spending hours peeling potatoes (does anyone enjoy peeling potatoes?!), these “smashed” potatoes are for you. Just make sure to give the potatoes a good scrub before chopping and throwing them into a pot of water. Seriously – the easiest way to make mashed potatoes. We’ve been busy busy busy here at Recipe Key over the holidays, traveling, etc and so we’re always delighted to find a quick and easy way to make a traditional favorite. Our favorite part about this recipe is that you can spice it up anyway you like.
