Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake
Ingredients:
2 Cups Raisins
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Salt pinch
1 Teaspoon Nutmeg freshly ground
1 Cup Sugar (for decoration)
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon (generous)
1/2 Teaspoon Cloves (whole)
1/2 Cup Shortening (solid)
1 Teaspoon Soda
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour up to 3
1 Cup Water (Ice) to 1/2
1 Tablespoon Water boiling
Directions:
1. Mix raisins, sugar and water; boil for 3 minutes.

2. Add shortening. When cold add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves (sifted together), and soda dissolved in 1 tablespoon boiling water.

3. Bake in a greased loaf pan for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
