It is indeed a nutritious item as few of the ingredients like almonds,eggs,honey are quite nourishing in nature.It can be made in less than 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

1 cup Shortening
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Honey
3 Eggs well beaten
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Confectionery Sugar
1/2 cup Almond Finely chopped blanched
2 cups Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla

Directions:

1. Cream shortening and sugar.

2. Add honey, eggs, and lemon rind. Mix thoroughly.

3. Sift flour, measure, and sift three times with baking powder and salt.

4. Add chopped nuts and flavoring. Mix thoroughly.

5. Pour into shallow, well-oiled pan.

6. Bake in moderate oven (375 F) 12-15 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool.

7. Turn onto board well dusted with powdered sugar. Cut in oblong bars. Roll in powdered sugar.
