This is a simple recipe to make ahead and have available to eat with your coffee on any occasion. These can be made ahead and kept in an airtight container for use at a moments notice. Your friends will love them and will be asking for your recipe. You will enjoy making these delectable delights and have even more fun sharing them with friends.


1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Sweet Butter melted
3 tablespoons Brandy
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 teaspoon Almond Extract
1 cup Unsalted Almond chopped
3 Eggs
2 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 tablespoon Baking Powder

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. Mix sugar with butter, brandy, vanilla, almond extract, nuts and eggs. Mix well.

3. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.

4. Form into a long loaf (or loaves), place on a cookie sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes or until firm and softly cake-like. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

5. When cool enough to handle, slice into 1/2 inch diagonal slices and return to cookie sheet.

6. Bake for 15-25 minutes, turning once, until both sides are brown-flecked and toasted.

7. Cool thoroughly and store in an airtight jar. Makes 2-3 dozen.
