Ingredients:

1 Cup Sugar
1 Pound Butter
1 Teaspoon Vinegar
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
6 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Extract Of Vanilla
1 Cup Sugar brown
3 Eggs beaten
Cup Almond slivered

Directions:

1. Combine sugars, baking soda, vinegar, and vanilla.

2. Stir in eggs. Cut butter into small pieces and work into mixture.

3. Add flour, a cup at a time, and mix well.

4. Knead in almonds. Gather dough into ball and divide into five equal pieces.

5. Roll each piece into a cylinder. If you wish, roll each cylinder in colored sugar.

6. Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate overnight.

7. Preheat oven to 350. Cut each log into 1/4" slices.

8. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 8 minutes.
