Amish Apple Brownies

Ingredients:
1 Cup Butter 1 Cup Butter softened
1 3/4 Cups Sugar 1 3/4 Cups Sugar
2 Unit Eggs 2 Unit Eggs well beaten
1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1 Teaspoon Vanilla almond or lemon flav
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour 2 Cups All-purpose flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder 1 Teaspoon Baking powder plus
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda 1 Teaspoon Baking soda level - dissol ved in milk
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon Ground
1/2 Teaspoon Salt 1/2 Teaspoon Salt to 1 ts
2 Cups Granny Smith Apples 2 Cups Granny Smith Apple peeled
1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla with electric mixer.
2. Combine dry ingredients and add to butter mixture.
3. Mix until flour is moistened. Fold in apples and nuts.
4. Spread in a greased 9 x 9 inch baking pan and bake in 350 degree oven 45 minutes or until done.
5. Serve warm with frozen vanilla yogurt or drizzle with vanilla glaze using 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon hot water and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla.
