1. CAKE: Mix yeast, salt, 4 T sugar, and 3/4 cup flour.

FILLING: Lay apple slices across bottom, combine sugar and cinnamon,
sprinkle over apples.
10. Add raisins, butter, and almonds. Bake in a preheated
400 degree F.
11. oven until pastry is brown and apples bubbly with syrup,
about 45 minutes.
12. Sprinkle confectioner's sugar over top.
