1 Unit Port 1 Unit Port 4/5 quart
4 Cups Water 4 Cups Water reserved from cooking
6 Apples 6 Golden delicious apples peeled and chopped
1 1/2 Cups Sugar 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon Salt 1/4 Teaspoon Salt to 1 ts
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon Ground cinnamon for garnish
1 Unit Stick Cinnamon 1 Unit Stick Cinnamon ground,1

Directions:

1. Pare apples and thinly slice.

2. Combine port with water and bring to boil over high heat.

3. Add apples and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally for 45 minutes.

4. Add sugar and spices and cook 20 -25 minutes until it resembles applesauce.

5. Prepare 3 pint jars and fill. Set aside to cool and check seals.
