Ingredients:

1 Cup Water
1 Cup Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/4 Teaspoon Salt to taste
3/4 Cup Butter melted
2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Brown Sugar
3 Tablespoons Cornstarch dissolved in one tablespoon cold water
1/2 Cup Instant Oats
6 Apples peeled cored, slice

Directions:

1. Mix together flour, brown sugar, oats, butter.

2. Pat down.

3. Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and water in saucepan.

4.
Cook over moderate heat, stirring until thickened.

5.
Stir to coat well.

6.
Top with remaining crumbs.

7.
Try a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

I think there may be a step or two missing - apples are not mentioned in the directions
