Ingredients:

1/4 Cup Sugar
2 Tablespoons Butter or margarine
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice fresh
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Cup Confectionery Sugar
3 Eggs separated
2 Cups Apples stewed

Directions:

1. Combine the stewed apples, sugar, butter, lemon juice and spices and mix well.

2. Beat the egg yolks and add to the apple mixture and beat until light.

3. Pour into a buttered baking dish and bake at 400-F about 15 minutes.

4. Remove from oven and cover with a meringue made by beating the egg whites stiff, adding to them the powdered sugar and vanilla after partially beaten.

5. Return to oven and bake at 325-F to brown the meringue.
