cloth, but don't peel.
Core and cut the apples
crosswise into 1/2 inch rings, most apples will cut in four rings.

four rings at a time slowly, in the sugar syrup until they are
transparent.
Remove carefully, store all in dish and when done pour
the rest of the syrup over the rings.
They keep well for several days.
