Preheat oven to 325 degrees. 1. Cream margarine and sugar in mixing bowl.
2. Add beaten eggs and vanilla extract and whisk to blend well.
3. Combine baking soda, salt, flour and cinnamon.
4. Add to egg mixture and beat until thoroughly mixed.
5. Add peeled and thinly sliced apples along with the chopped walnuts to batter.
6. Blend ONLY enough to spread apples and nuts throughout batter.
7. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Pour in the batter and bake in a 325-degree oven for 1 hour. Serve warm or cold with a dollop of whipped cream.
