Artichokes with Butter Sauce

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Butter or margarine
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice fresh
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 Cup Water warm
4 Artichokes

Directions:

1. Slice 1 inch from top of artichokes. Cut stem even with base. With kitchen shears, snip off sharp tips. Wash thoroughly.

2. Place upside down in a baking dish. Combine water, oil and lemon juice. Pour over artichokes.

3. Cover with plastic wrap.

4. Microwave at high (100%) until base is tender, 16 to 18 minutes. Remove plastic wrap.

5. Turn right side up. Recover. Let stand 5 minutes. Place butter in a 1 cup measure.

6. Microwave at high (100%) until melted, 30 to 45 seconds.

7. Stir in lemon juice and garlic powder.

8. Serve with artichokes.
