BLACK MAGIC CAKE (CRS)

Ingredients:

1 3/4 Cups Flour bleached, sifted
2 Cups Sugar Brown
3/4 Cup Cocoa powdered
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda level - dissol ved in milk
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder heaping
1 Teaspoon Salt plus more for sprinkl ing
2 Unit Eggs large,just whites
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil vegetable
1 Cup Coffee black, strong
1 Cup Buttermilk at room temperature
1 Teaspoon Extract Of Vanilla (up to 2)
1/4 Cup Butter (1/4 stick) cut into 6 pieces
3 Ounces Semisweet Chocolate 3 squa
1 Unit Egg beaten
2 Cups Sugar icing
1 Tablespoon Vanilla or grated peel of One Orange
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice freshly squeezd
1 Cup Walnut chopped (optional)

Directions:

1. Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.

2. Add eggs, oil, coffee, buttermilk and vanilla.

3. Beat with an electric mixer set at medium speed for 3 minutes.

4. Pour batter into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

5. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes or until the cake tests done.

6. Cool in pan on rack. Frost with Hundred Dollar Frosting.

7. Cut into squares. HUNDRED DOLLAR FROSTING: Combine butter and semisweet chocolate in a double boiler top.

8. Place over hot water, stirring until melted.

9. Remove and cool well. Add egg and stir vigorously.

10. Stir in confectioners' sugar, vanilla and lemon juice.

11. Beat until smooth. Stir in walnuts and frost cake with icing.
