Baked Halvah

Ingredients:

1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Pound Butter or margarine
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup Almond Chopped
1/4 Teaspoon Salt to taste
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice fresh
4 Eggs separated
2 Cups Water warm
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon Ground
2 Cups Cream Of Wheat

Directions:

1. Cream butter and sugar in electric beater for 15 minutes.

2. Add remaining ingredients, fold-in in stiffly beaten egg whites last.

3. Pour into 9x13 greased pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

4. Cut in squares. Top with warm syrup before it cools.

5. Cover and let stand until syrup is absorbed.

6. Makes 35 squares. Syrup: Boil sugar, water and lemon juice together for 2 minutes.

7. Remove from heat. (syrup will be very thin.
