Barbecued Short Ribs For Smoker

Ever wonder how to make those mouth-watering smoked ribs you see on barbecue cook-offs? Look no further. The recipe for these smoked, barbecued short ribs will have you entering competitions in no time!
1. Directions: Place ribs in a baking dish, bowl or heavy duty plastic bag.
2. Combine other ingredients and pour over ribs.
3. Toss ribs so all are evenly coated. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
4. Remove ribs from the sauce and place on smoker grid.
5. Baste with sauce before cooking and once during cooking.
6. * This sauce can be used on bone-in ribs, just increase cooking time.
7. CHARCOAL: Use 5-7 lbs. charcoal, 3 quarts hot water, 2 wood sticks and smoke 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours.
8. ELECTRIC: Use 2 1/2 quarts hot water, 2 wood sticks and smoke 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours.
9. GAS: Use 3 quarts hot water, 2 wood sticks and smoke 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours.
