1. Heat oven to 375F Beat together butter and sugars until creamy.
2. Add egg and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, salt and spices, mix well.
3. Stir in oats, raisins and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet and flatten.
4. Bake 8-9 minutes for a chewy cookie , 10-11 minutes for a crisp cookie.
5. Cool for 1 minute on cookie sheet. Remove to wire rack.
