Black Walnut Refrigerator Cookies

Ingredients:

1 Teaspoon Vanilla
3/4 Cup Butter or margarine softened
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
2 Eggs beaten
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar packed
1/4 Teaspoon Salt coarse
2 Cups Flour unsifted
1 Cup Black Walnut chopped

Directions:

1. Mix fat and sugar until creamy.

2. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Mix flour, baking powder and salt thoroughly; add to creamy mixture.

3. Add nuts and mix well. Chill dough 1 hour. Form dough into 3 rolls about 8 inches long and wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap, tightly.

4. Chill thoroughly. Preheat oven to 375 F. Grease baking sheets.

5. Remove roll of dough from refrigerator. Unwrap.

6. Slice 1/8 inch thick. Place 1 inch apart on baking sheet.

7. Bake 7 to 10 minutes. Remove from baking sheet while warm.
