Blueberry Grunt

1/4 Cup Butter or margarine Softened
1 1/4 Cups Blueberries crushed
3 Teaspoons Baking Powder soda
3/4 Cup Milk (up to 2)
1/4 Teaspoon Salt pepper to taste,
1 1/2 Cups Flour seasoned with

1. Sift dry ingredients into a bowl; rub in the butter.

2. Add the berries and then the milk, stirring lightly to make a batter.

3. Pour into pudding bag and place in boiling water.

4. Boil for 1 hour. For a richer batter, add 1/4 cup sugar and reduce the milk to 1/2 cup and add one beaten egg.

5. Patridge-berries or other berries may be used.
