Borracho Beans

Ingredients:
2 Cups Pinto Beans 2 Cups Pinto beans -- dried
1 Unit Garlic 1 Unit Garlic -- crushed
1 Unit Onion 1 Unit Onion -- chopped
2 Tablespoons Bacon 2 Tablespoons Bacon drippings or butter
2. Drain and cover with fresh water. Add 2 tsp salt, garlic and pork.
3. Simmer 2 1/2 hours or until beans are soft.
4. Drain beans and reserve liquid. Heat bacon drippings and saute the onions, peppers and tomatoes until soft.
5. Stir the mixture into beans and simmer 5 minutes.
6. Just before serving, pour beer and as much reserved liquid as desired into beans.
7. Serve hot. Beans can be mashed or "processed" for refrieds.
