Bourbon Fruit Cake

A tantalizing mix of bourbon with raisins and cherries, this cake will tickle your taste buds and offer you a recipe that will get u loads of accolades. A basic cake recipe to get any special day a little more special.


4 Cups Flour Sifted
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
4 Teaspoons Nutmeg ground
1 Cup Butter (1/4 stick) cut into 6 pieces
2 Cups Sugar (up to 6)
6 Unit Eggs add
1/2 Cup Bourbon or whiskey
4 Cups Pecans Coarsely Chopped
1 Pound Raisin
1/2 Cup Candied Cherry Green &

1. Sift flour and baking powder and nutmeg together.

2. Cream butter, add sugar and cream until fluffy.

3. beat in eggs, one at a time. Add dry ingredients alternately with bourbon.

4. Stir in nuts, raisins and cherries. Turn mixture into well greased 10" tube pan.

5. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours or until straw inserted in cake comes out clean.

6. Remove from oven and let stand in pan for 20 minutes.

7. Take out of pan and cool on rack. If you wish, sprinkle more bourbon on cake when it has cooled.

8. Wrap in foil or put in container. Occasionally, sprinkle with more bourbon if you wish.

9. Keeps well. Before serving, sift powdered sugar over surface.
