2. Do not peel potatoes. Wash and dry with paper towels.
3. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise. Using the pointed end of a bottle opener, apple corer, vegetable peeler or the end of a table knife, carefully carve your initials, numbers or other designs in the rounded sides of the potatoes (ask an adult to help).
4. Using a cotton-covered swab, a pastry brush or a very small, clean brush, paint the carved-out part with liquid browning sauce.
5. Put 1 tablespoon butter or margarine into a 8 inch round microwavable dish.
6. Microwave uncovered on High 15 to 30 seconds or until melted.
7. Sprinkle the flat sides of the potatoes with 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt.
8. Put potatoes with the flat sides down in a circle in the melted margarine.
9. Microwave uncovered on High 4 minutes. Turn the dish 1/2 turn, Microwave 2 to 4 minutes longer or until the potatoes are tender when poked with a fork.
10. Let stand uncovered 5 minutes before serving.
