1. Combine the butter or margarine, sugar, salt, and raisins with the milk.
2. Heat to a boil. Pour over bread crumbs. Allow to set for 5 minutes.
3. Add the eggs, nutmeg and mix well. Place into a buttered casserole.
4. Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes. Serve with a Lemon Sauce or a Hard Sauce.
5. Hard Sauce: Cream 1/2 cup butter or margarine with 1 1/2 cups sugar.
6. Add 1 tsp. vanilla extract and beat until fluffy.
