2 Pounds Broccoli 2 Pounds Fresh broccoli trimmed, cut into 1-inch pieces
27 1/2 Ounces Chicken Broth 27 1/2 Ounces Fat-free chicken broth 2 cans
3 Cups Milk 3 Cups Milk divided
1 Cup Ham 1 Cup Chopped ham
2 Teaspoons Salt 2 Teaspoons Salt (to taste)
1/4 Teaspoon Pepper 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper hot red
1 Cup Half And Half 1 Cup Half and half (or milk)
2 Cups Swiss Cheese 2 Cups Shredded swiss cheese
1/4 Cup Butter 1/4 Cup Butter small lump

1. Combine broccoli and 1 can of broth in a Dutch oven.

2. Cover and cook 7 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender.

3. Remove broccoli from broth, cool and coarsely chop.

4. Add remaining can of broth, 2 cups of the milk, ham, salt, and pepper to pot.

5. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

6. Stir in broccoli and remaining ingredients, except remaining cup of milk.

7. Mix some flour into the remaining milk and stir into chowder to thicken.

8. Cook over low heat until thoroughly heated. Do not boil.
