Broiled Family Fare Beef Steak

Ingredients:

1/3 Cup Water to cover
1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil vegetable for frying
3/4 Teaspoon Celery Seed (or lovage)
3/4 Teaspoon Sage fresh chopped
1/3 Cup Lemon Juice (or red wine vinegar)
1/4 Teaspoon Pepper seasoned
2 Tablespoons Sugar (or less, to taste)
1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt (if using water)
1 Centiliter Garlic minced
1 Beef Top Round Steak cut

Directions:

1. Combine lemon juice,oil,water,sugar,salt,sage,celery seed,pepper and garlic in small saucepan and cook slowly 10 minutes,stirring occasionally.

2. Cool.Place steak in utility or plastic bag;add marinade,turning to coat.

3. Cover dish or tie bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 6 to 8 hours or overnight,turning at least once.

4. Remove steak from marinade and place on grill over ash-covered coals so meat is 4 to 5" from heat.

5. Broil to rare or medium,25 to 35 minutes, turning and brushing with marinade.

6. Carve in thin slices and serve with any leftover marinade,heated.
