Ingredients:

2 Cups Brown Sugar 2 Cups Brown sugar heaping
1 Cup Lard 1 Cup Lard melted
2 Unit Eggs 2 Unit Eggs large
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda 1 Teaspoon Baking soda level - dissol ved in milk
1 Teaspoon Cream Of Tartar 1 Teaspoon Cream of tartar (meringue)
1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
4 Cups Flour 4 Cups Flour whole wheat
1 Cup Walnut 1 Cup Chopped walnuts

Directions:

1. Cream lard and sugar, add vanilla and eggs and mix well.

2. Sift together flour, soda and cream of tartar and add to first mixture.

3. Add nuts then form dough into two rolls. Place in plastic wrap and chill several hours.

4. Cut in 1/2 inch slices and bake in 350 degree oven 10 - 12 minutes.
