1. Put butter into heavy skillet and slowly heat until butter is browned about 5 minutes.
2. turn into mixing bowl. beat the butter with the sugar, egg, vanilla until light.
3. Add flour and baking powder, stirring to make a stiff dough.
4. Shape into little balls using about 1 level tablespoon dough for each.
5. Place on cookie sheet. Press center down with thumb to make and indentation.
6. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are firm but not overly browned.

Is it just me or was the measurement for the all purpose flour not on the list? I just winged it and used 2 cups of flour to get a solid cookie dough consistency, but couldn't find it under the measurements! Great cookies, though- still turned out beautifully. Very easy.
