6 Tablespoons Butter or marg
2 Teaspoons Flour sifted all-purpose
1 Teaspoon Pepper preferably cracked
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg or allspice
2 Cups Heavy Cream brought to a boil
2 1/4 Teaspoons Salt (if using water)
1/4 Cup Onion finely chopped
8 Potatoes boiled or baked, peeled

1. Melt 4 tablespoons butter in a saucepan; stir in flour; blend.

2. Gradually add cream and cook, stirring constantly until sauce bubbles and thickens.

3. Add salt, pepper, onion and nutmeg; blend thoroughly.

4. Add potatoes to the sauce; mix well. Pour into a lightly greased 2 quart baking dish.

5. Dot top with remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.

6. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 45 minutes, until browned.
