Buckingham Palace Scones

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Sugar plus extra for coating
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1/2 Cup Milk Thinly Sliced
1 Pinch Salt black pepper
1 Egg whites room temperature
3 1/2 Cups Flour sifted all-purpose
3/4 Cup Butter Melted And Kept Hot
1/2 Cup Raisin (dunk in wiskey)

Directions:

1. Cut together butter, flour, salt and baking powder.

2. Add sugar and raisins. Make well in center of the mixture; add egg and small amount of milk.

3. If mixture appears to be too dry, add more milk.

4. Blend to a nice, smooth dough. Roll out on floured board to 1/2 inch thick.

5. Use cutter with 2-inch fluted edge. Place on lightly greased baking sheet, brush with beaten egg.

6. Bake in 350-degree F oven for 10-15 minutes.

7. Center of bottom should be lightly colored. Serve hot.
