1 Unit Ham 1 Unit Ham bone or ham hock
2 Cups Tomato Juice 2 Cups Tomato juice or V-8 Water
1 Unit Onion 1 Unit Onion chopped
1 Unit Pepper 1 Unit Sweet green pepper chopped
4 Unit Whole Cloves 4 Unit Whole cloves ;
28 Ounces Beans 28 Ounces Canned baked beans
19 Ounces Kidney Beans 19 Ounces Canned kidney beans drain
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce to taste
1 Tablespoon Vinegar 1 Tablespoon Wine vinegar ;
1 Teaspoon Dry Mustard 1 Teaspoon Dry mustard optional

Directions:

1. If you dont have a ham bone, or ham hock, a piece of smoky bacon or smoked sausage will suffice.

2. In large saucepan, combine ham bone, tomato juice, onion, green pepper and cloves.

3. Bring to boil and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove bone from pan.

4. Cut away any meat. Discard bone and cloves. Return meat to pan along with baked beans, kidney beans, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and mustard.

5. Bring to boil; simmer for about 20 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
