Busy Day Cobbler

1/4 Cup Margarine if you must)
1/2 Cup Sugar
Cup Milk (evaporated is best)
1 Cup Flour whole wheat
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder plus
13 Ounces Cherries
2 Tablespoons Sugar use less or more as needed)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F Drain cherries, saving liquid.

2. Cream butter and sugar together. Alternately add in milk and sifted dry ingredients.

3. Pour into a buttered and floured casserole dish.

4. Top evenly with cherries. Sprinkle sugar on top and cover with saved liquid/juice.

5. Bake 45-50 minutes. The batter will expand and surround the cherries so they're evenly mixed throughout the cobbler.

6. The juice will congeal to fruity and pudding-like.

7. Serve warm topped with cream, milk or ice cream.

8. (I prefer milk). If any is left, it's good cold, too.
