Butter Biscuits with Orange Butter

3 Tablespoons Orange Marmalade
4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
4 Tablespoons Sugar brown to taste
1/4 Teaspoon Salt black pepper
Cup Milk (homogenized)
1/2 Teaspoon Cream Of Tartar (meringue)
1/2 Cup Butter softened
2 Cups Flour all purpose
1/3 Cup Butter cut into pieces

1. Heat oven to 450F In a medium bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt.

2. Cut in 1/3 cup butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs.

3. Stir in milk just until blended. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface; knead 15 seconds.

4. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with 2 1/2 inch round cutter.

5. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

6. Meanwhile in a small bowl stir together orange butter ingredients.
