Ingredients:

1 Unit Ham 1 Unit Very meaty ham bone
1 Cabbage 1 Cabbage julienned
1 Unit Garlic 1 Unit Garlic to taste - chopped
1 Unit Salt 1 Unit Salt to taste (optional)
1 Unit Pepper 1 Unit Pepper to taste (freshly ground is best)

Directions:

1. Source: Family Prep Time: 25 minutes Place ham bone in dutch oven and add enough water to cover entire bone.

2. Simmer until meat comes off easily. Remove bone from pot, cut ham chunks off bone.

3. Return ham only to water. Cut cabbage into quarters.

4. Fry slightly in butter to improve flavor. Add cabbage, garlic, salt, and pepper to ham and water.

5. Cook until cabbage is tender. Top with grated Romano or Parmasean cheese, if desired.

6. We always top this with the Italian cheeses.
