Cabbage Cheese Bake

This cheesy veggie dish is a wonderful accompaniment to your favorite meal. Try it along side a baked ham and your dinner guest will be wowed. Just pop it in the oven along with your main meal, and dinner is done.

Ingredients:

1 Cabbage (about 3 1/2 lbs.) cut into 1
1/4 Cup Margarine
3 Tablespoons Flour more as needed to 7 c
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika Sweet -- optional
1 Cup Milk (evaporated is best)
1 Pound Cheese Spread cubed
2 Cups Croutons (optional)

Directions:

1. Cover cabbage with water in Dutch oven; bring water to boil.

2. Cook 2 1/2 minutes; drain well. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

3. Melt 2 tablespoons margarine in saucepan over medium-low heat.

4. Blend in flour and paprika. Gradually stir in milk; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.

5. Add cheese spread; stir until melted. Add cabbage.

6. Pour into 12" x 7 1/2" baking dish. Toss croutons with remaining melted margarine.

7. Sprinkle over cabbage mixture; cover. Bake 25 minutes.

8. Uncover; continue baking 20 minutes or until croutons are toasted.

9. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Serves 8.
