Ingredients:

6 Unit Granny Smith Apples peeled/thinly sliced
6 Unit Dried Figs
1 Unit Lemon sliced
1 Cup Brown Sugar heaping
1 Cup Water Heated To 105F
6 Unit Whole Cloves ;
1 Unit Stick Cinnamon (1/2-inch piece)

Directions:

1. Bring sugar and water to a boil.

2. Add lemon rind and spices. Core apples and place in baking dish or skillet.

3. Place figs around and between apples. Pour spiced syrup over all and cover.

4. Bake or simmer gently, basting occasionally, until apples are tender and syrup thickened.

5. Then serve each apple topped with a plump juicy fig, to 6 lucky people.
