This sweet treat is sure to please taste buds of both young and old. It's an easy recipe to make an old favorite.

Ingredients:

8 Red Apples
3 cups Sugar
1/8 teaspoon Cream Of Tartar
1 1/4 cups Water
Red Food Color

Directions:

1. Wash and dry apples.

2. Insert wooden sticks. Combine sugar, cream of tartar, and water in heavy, deep saucepan.

3. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture begins to boil.

4. Add food coloring to desired shade. Boil until syrup reaches 300 degrees (brittle stage).

5. Dip apples in syrup and twirl until they are covered evenly.
