This is great for all of those you like to make things from scratch. It takes a little time to prepare, but it is well worth the effort. You will definitely enjoy this.
1. Cook 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons water in heavy small saucepan over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
2. Transfer to top of double boiler. Add cranberries. Cover berry mixture and place over simmering water.
3. Cook 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Remove from over water.
5. Let cranberry mixture stand at room temperature overnight.
6. Place remaining 1/2 cup sugar on plate. Drain cranberries well.
7. Add t sugar and turn to coat.
8. Let dry at least 30 minutes. (Can be prepared 3 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate.) Makes about 1/2 cup
