Cape Cod Cranberry Pie

Add some New England charm right in your kitchen with this recipe! Fresh ingredients will take you to the East Coast and its easy to make on a Saturday afternoon.

Ingredients:

2 cups Cranberries
1 1/2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Walnut Chopped
2 Eggs well beaten
1 cup Flour
1/2 cup Butter Melted
1/4 cup Shortening Melted

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325F Spread the cranberries in the bottom of a well greased ten inch pie plate.

2. Sprinkle with one half cup of the sugar and the nuts.

3. Add the remaining sugar to the eggs, beating well.

4. Beat in the flour, butter, and shortening. Pour over the cranberries.

5. Bake about 1 hour, or until crust is golden brown.

My neighbor baked this pie and gave it to us in appreciation for us looking after her home while she was in Florida during Hurricane Sandy....we absolutely enjoyed this pie and shared it with our family...they all want me to bake it next...and I intend to....Adrienne Anderson, Neptune, NJ
