1. Cut beef into chunks, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
2. Roll in 2 T cornstarch. Add beef to soy sauce and brandy; mix well.
3. Saute garlic; remove. Cook meat (do not add extra batter); remove.
4. Stir fry onion till limp, add snow peas and heated broth.
5. Cover and steam 15 to 20 seconds, until veggies are crisp-tender.
6. Return meat and thicken with 2 T cornstarch, dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water.
