Ingredients:

1/3 Cup Butter (or marg.) melted
1/4 Cup Sugar brown to taste
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla or grated peel of One Orange
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice fresh squeezed
1 Egg beaten; for glaze
1 Cup Flour all purpose (add to above)
2 Tablespoons Milk up to 1
1/2 Cup Walnut finely chopped
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar firmly packed
1 Package Cream Cheese (8 oz)

Directions:

1. Cream butter with brown sugar in small bowl.

2. Add flour and nuts. Mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup of this mixture for topping.

3. Press remainder into bottom of 8" square pan.

4. Bake at 350 F for 12 to 15 minutes. FOR THE FILLING Blend sugar and cream cheese until smooth.

5. Add egg, milk, lemon juice, and vanilla and beat well.

6. Spread over baked crust and sprinkle with reserved crumbs.

7. Bake a 350 F for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into 2" squares.
