Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon Salt 1 t.
3 1/4 Cups Brown Sugar up to 3 T
2 1/2 Cups Sugar (depending upon sweetness of berries) (up to 1/2)
4 Teaspoons Baking Soda (dissolved in a little warm water)
9 Cups Flour plus additional
4 Cups Butter margarine

Directions:

1. In a large bowl combine flour, sugars, baking soda, and salt; stir to blend.

2. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal.

3. Store mix in one large bag or divide into four 4-3/4-cup portions.

4. Mix made with butter or margarine can be stored in freezer up to 4 months.

5. Mix made with shortening can be stored in cupboard up to 6 months.

6. Makes 2 large batches, 6 to 8 dozen cookies.
