Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
2 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
3/4 Cup Milk
1/3 Cup Shortening
1/2 Cup Yellow Cornmeal
1/2 Teaspoon Salt coarse

Directions:

1. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt; stir well.

2. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.

3. Sprinkle milk evenly over flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.

4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead 10 to 12 times.

5. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut with a 2 inch biscuit cutter.

6. Place biscuits on greased baking sheets. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes or until biscuits are lightly browned.
