Ingredients:

1 Cup Water
1 1/2 Teaspoons Oregano dried leaf
1/4 Cup Onion Chopped
1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs seasoned
1 1/3 Cups Instant Rice
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper Freshly Ground
1/2 Teaspoon Salt coarse
1/4 Cup Green Bell Pepper Chopped
1 Pound Ground Chuck
2 Cans Tomato Sauce (8-oz) divided
1 Cup Cheddar Cheese Shredded divided

Directions:

1. Combine 1/2 cup tomato sauce, bread crumbs, chuck, onion, green pepper, oregano and pepper.

2. Mix well. Pat meat mixture on bottom and sides of 9-inch pie plate.

3. Combine rice, water and remaining tomato sauce, 1/4 cup cheese, and salt.

4. Spoon over meat and cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

5. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 10-15 minutes.

I have been making this recipe for years. My husband likes to add hot sauce to it. Great recipe for a quick easy meal.
