2. Add egg; mix well. Combine soda and molasses; stir well until frothy, and add to creamed mixture.
3. Add 2 cups flour; turn onto a floured board and add enough of the remaining flour to make a dough that can be rolled.
4. Using a small amount of dough at a time, roll to 1/8" thickness; cut with a floured 3" cutter.
5. Place on greased baking sheets; bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
6. These cookies keep well in a covered container.
