This recipe is a simple way to enjoy one of the tastiest fruits known to man! Dates are sticky and sweet and lend themselves well to this quick-prep recipe. Make sure to buy dried dates in bulk from the store, and not the pre-bagged kind. The difference is worth it!

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Butter
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
2 Eggs separated
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
3/4 Cup Mixed Nuts Choppped
1/4 Teaspoon Salt coarse
1 1/2 Cups Dates
1/2 Cup Flour unsifted

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 275-300 degrees. Grease a 6x10 inch pan.

2. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.

3. Add egg yolks.

4. Add flour, baking powder, salt, dates, and nuts. Add beaten egg whites.

5. Pour into pan and bake 45 minutes.
