Ingredients:

1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder plus 1 teaspoon
1/4 Teaspoon Salt approximately
1 Cup Dates
1 Cup Walnut
5 Unit Eggs separated
1 Cup Brown Sugar packed
1 Teaspoon Vanilla or Almond extract to
1 Unit Sugar

Directions:

1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in bowl.

2. Add dates and nuts and toss until well-coated and separated.

3. Set aside. Beat egg yolks until thick (about 3 minutes).

4. Gradually beat in sugar and vanilla. Blend in date-nut mixture.

5. Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter.

6. Pour into 15 by 10 by 1 inch greased and floured pan.

7. Spread evenly. Bake in 325 degree oven 30 minutes until light brown.

8. Cool. Cut into 48 bars and roll in powdered sugar.
