Dr Pepper Cake With Broiled Peanut Butter Frosting

Ingredients:

2 Cups Flour unsifted
2 Cups Sugar confectioner'
1 Cup Pepper
3 Tablespoons Cocoa plus 2 Tbls
2 Unit Eggs beaten
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda level - dissol ved in milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla or lemon extract
1 Cup Butter (5oz)
1/2 Cup Buttermilk or sour milk
1 1/2 Cups Marshmallows miniature
6 Tablespoons Butter (5oz)
1 Cup Brown Sugar dark, packed
Cup Peanut Butter (smooth or chunky)
1/4 Cup Milk (or use about 1/2 C of powdered milk and about 1 C water)
Cup Peanuts chopped

Directions:

1. Mix the sugar and flour.

2. Mix the Dr. Pepper, cocoa, and butter in a pan, and bring to a boil.

3. Pour over the flour and sugar; mix well. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

4. Bake at 350 F in a greased (but not floured) 9"x12" pan for 30 to 35 minutes.

5. Cream Butter, sugar, and peanut butter. Add milk and stir well.

6. Add nuts. Spread over warm cake. Place frosted cake under broiler about 4-inches from heat source.

7. Broil just a few seconds, or until topping starts to bubble.

8. DO NOT scorch! Let cool at least 30 minutes before serving.
