1/2 Teaspoon Salt pinch
1/2 Cup Sugar (for decoration)
1 Egg yolk Lg, Beaten
1/4 Cup Shortening (solid)
1 Cup Flour white or unbleached
1/4 Cup Milk scalded

1. Cream together shortening and sugar.

2. Add 1 beaten egg, then sift flour, baking powder, and salt to mix.

3. Add flour mixture, alternating with 1/4 cup milk to the egg mixture.

4. Pour into greased 8 inch pan. Spread fruit on top and sprinkle with crumb topping.
