Popovers are a delicious addition to any dinner, and are simple to make with ingredients you already have on hand. Even though no leavening agent is used, the liquid batter makes them light and puffy...just be sure not to open the oven until they are finished baking or they will collapse.


1 cup Flour
1 cup Milk
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter

1. Into a bowl, sift together the flour and the salt.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.

3. Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture, stirring, and stir the batter until it is smooth.

4. In a preheated 450 f oven, heat a 6 cup popover pan for 5 minutes.

5. Brush with melted butter and fill them half full with the batter.

6. Bake in the middle of the oven for 20 minutes.

7. Reduce heat to 375 f and bake for 20 minutes more or until they are golden brown and crisp.

8. Makes 6 popovers.
